We all know that the GOP/Tea Party are always looking for some way to justify their evil racist pathology. Today might be the worst example of false equivalence we’ve ever seen.
Since George Zimmerman was found “not guilty” of the Second Degree Murder and Manslaughter of Trayvon Martin, the right wing has desperately tried to stoke the fires of an imaginary reverse race war, against white people. Lying right-wing racists have showered the internet with memes claiming that it’s racist to point out racism, and that nobody cares when white people get shot by black people, or when a 13 month old baby was killed in an attempted robbery. The racist right-wing doesn’t like to talk about racism – and their argument is often that pointing out their racism is in fact, a form of racism.
Here’s the new TEApublican meme:

My family made the mistake of being white in a 73% non-white neighborhood, but my murder was not ruled a Hate Crime. Nor did President Obama take so much as a single moment to acknowledge my murder.
I am one of the youngest murder victims in our great Nation’s history, but the media doesn’t care to cover the story of my tragic demise, President Obama has no children who could possibly look like me – so he doesn’t care and the media doesn’t care because my story is not interesting enough to bring them ratings so they can sell commercial time slots.”
Enter the supremely disgusting Fox News host Dana Perino, and this sickening false equivalence,
“If you think of the young mother whose 2-year-old son was shot in the face by the two black teens that approached her in Atlanta and that baby had died, why do presidents choose to speak about one case and not the other? That’s why it’s better maybe not to talk about any of them.”
Except there is absolutely no comparison between George Zimmerman killing Trayvon Martin and the horrific shooting that left that sweet baby dead. Perino is trying to fan the fires of the imaginary race war against white people. It wasn’t until a huge public outcry that Zimmerman was even charged with killing Trayvon Martin–and even then was only charged with 2nd degree murder and manslaughter! The two suspects in the killing of that poor baby were found and arrested the next day and charged with FIRST DEGREE MURDER. Trayvon Martin was put on trial for his own murder, and is still being publicly profiled and vilified for being a less-than-perfect black kid. Nobody blamed the baby for his own death and the story did get media attention.

You’ll remember West says that she was shot in the March 21st incident and Santiago says he was shopping at Walmart when it happened and wasn’t there.
But the GBI recently found traces of gunshot residue, or GSR, on both parents.
According to the report, “this supports the possibility that the individual discharged a firearm, was in close proximity to a firearm upon discharge or came into contact with an item whose surface bears GSR.”

Fringe right-wing radio host Pete Santilli made disturbing comments about Hillary Clinton last week, calling for sexual violence against the former secretary of state because of her alleged involvement in a bizarre conspiracy theory.
“Miss Hillary Clinton needs to be convicted, she needs to be tried, convicted and shot in the vagina,” he said. “I wanna pull the trigger. That ‘C U Next Tuesday’ has killed human beings that are in our ranks of our service.”
Santilli alleged Clinton was involved in drug trafficking in Arkansas and the killing of U.S. troops overseas.
“I want to shoot her right in the vagina and I don’t want her to die right away,” he added. “I want her to feel the pain and I want to look her in the eyes and I want to say, on behalf of all Americans that you’ve killed, on behalf of the Navy SEALS, the families of Navy SEAL Team Six who were involved in the fake hunt down of this Obama, Obama bin Laden thing.
“That whole fake scenario, because these Navy SEALS know the truth, they killed them all. On behalf of all of those people, I’m supporting our troops by saying we need to try, convict, and shoot Hillary Clinton in the vagina.”
The remarks were first reported by Right Wing Watch, which said it began monitoring Santilli after National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent and Gun Owners of America director Larry Pratt appeared on his online radio program.
On his website, Santilli specifically claims that he is not a conspiracy theorist and that he is not crazy.
“As Alex Jones puts it, there is a war for your mind and its a well known fact that you are not winning. Everything you supposedly perceive as reality has been fabricated by the Wizard of Oz; the little old man behind the curtain,” he explained on his about page.

Michele Wanko Accidentally Kills Husband During Drunk Gun Lesson In Pennsylvania

A Pennsylvania man was killed Saturday when -- after a night of drinking -- he demonstrated for his wife how to operate a semiautomatic pistol.
“I shot him,” Michele Wanko, 42, told a Parkside Police officer when authorities arrived at the house around 4:00 a.m., the Delco Times reports. Authorities found Wanko's husband, 43-year-old Michael, lying near the entrance with a gunshot wound to the upper chest.
The couple had spent the night sipping vodka and lemonade when Michele asked for a gun lesson so she could protect herself, according to CBS. They went down to the basement where Michael stored his guns in a safe as their sons, 2 and 5, slept upstairs.
“He took several of the weapons out, handguns and was demonstrating to her how the weapon worked as far as taking the magazine out, making sure it was safe, and how to pull the slide back,” said Parkside Police Chief John Egan, according to NBC Philadelphia.
Michele picked up a gun but when she pulled the slide back, as she was taught, the weapon went off, striking her husband. Michael was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
"Why, after six-and-a-half hours of drinking, would you go down and handle a gun, especially with someone who never shot a weapon before?" Egan said, according to Philly.com. "The real big common denominator is the alcohol and it ended up costing him his life."
Michele was charged with involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and possessing an instrument of crime. The children are staying with relatives.
