MASS SHERIFF: OBAMA SHOULD BE SHOT

Massachusetts Sheriff ‘Jokes’ That President Obama Should Be Shot

Plymouth County, MA Sheriff Joe McDonald (R)
Plymouth County, MA Sheriff Joe McDonald (R)
At a Massachusetts Republican Party St. Patrick’s Day breakfast Sunday, Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph D. McDonald, Jr. (R) “joked” that the nation would be better off if President Obama were assassinated.
Blue Mass Group reports that the Boston Globe noted the stunning comment Sunday:
McDonald offered a joke about Barack Obama being visited in a dream by three past presidents, who offered advice on how to improve the country. Lincoln’s advice: “Go to the theater.”
The alleged joke received “scattered laughter.”
McDonald, who was first elected Sheriff in 2004, notes on his website that he is an “avid sportsman and target shooter” and writes: “Plymouth County deserves the best in public safety, and I intend to continue to deliver.” Given the assassination attempt on Rep. Gabby Giffords in 2011 and the spate of mass shootings across the country, it is stunning that a top public safety officer would find this sort of “joke” appropriate.
A spokesman for McDonald did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

CPAC NUT: SLAVERY WAS OK!

CPAC Participant Defends Slavery At Minority Outreach Panel: It Gave ‘Food And Shelter’ To Blacks

CPAC participant Scott Terry
A panel at the Conservative Political Action Committee on Republican minority outreach exploded into controversy on Friday afternoon, after an audience member defended slavery as good for African-Americans.
The exchange occurred after an audience member from North Carolina, 30-year-old Scott Terry, asked whether Republicans could endorse races remaining separate but equal. After the presenter, K. Carl Smith of Frederick Douglass Republicans, answered by referencing a letter by Frederick Douglass forgiving his former master, the audience member said “For what? For feeding him and housing him?”
After the exchange, Terry muttered under his breath, “why can’t we just have segregation?” noting the Constitution’s protections for freedom of association.
ThinkProgress spoke with Terry, who sported a Rick Santorum sticker and attended CPAC with a friend who wore a Confederate Flag-emblazoned t-shirt, about his views after the panel. Terry maintained that white people have been “systematically disenfranchised” by federal legislation.
When asked by ThinkProgress if he’d accept a society where African-Americans were permanently subservient to whites, he said “I’d be fine with that.” He also claimed that African-Americans “should be allowed to vote in Africa,” and that “all the Tea Parties” were concerned with the same racial problems that he was.
At one point, a woman challenged him on the Republican Party’s roots, to which Terry responded, “I didn’t know the legacy of the Republican Party included women correcting men in public.”
He claimed to be a direct descendent of Confederate President Jefferson Davis.
The panel continued to be racked controversy, as an African-American audience member repeatedly challenged the racism on display at this event. CPAC is the marquee conservative conference of year, with speakers ranging from former Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney to Senator Marco Rubio.
ThinkProgress will post video of the exchange shortly.

IDIOT ATTACK FROM NEW YORK STATE!

Chris Collins: 'People Now Don't Die From Prostate Cancer, Breast Cancer'

The Huffington Post  |  By  Posted:  Updated: 07/03/2012 5:14 pm
Chris Collins
Chris Collins of Buffalo, N.Y. speaks at the Republican National Convention in 2008.
GOP congressional candidate Chris Collins knows health care is expensive these days, but he argues it's for good reason: People are no longer dying from deadly forms of cancer.
"People now don't die from prostate cancer, breast cancer and some of the other things," he told The Batavian in an interview that was flagged Tuesday byCity & State NY. Collins was discussing his desire to repeal Obamacare.
"The fact of the matter is, our healthcare today is so much better, we're living so much longer, because of innovations in drug development, surgical procedures, stents, implantable cardiac defibrillators, neural stimulators -- they didn't exist 10 years ago," he continued. "The increase in cost is not because doctors are making a lot more money. It's what you can get for healthcare, extending your life and curing diseases."
In fact, a lot of people do die from breast cancer and prostate cancer, despite advances in treatment. An estimated 577,190 people in the United States will die from cancer this year, including about 39,920 deaths from breast cancer and 28,170 from prostate cancer, according to the American Cancer Society.
The organization also points out that uninsured people are less likely to detect cancer in its early stages, making it far more expensive to treat.
Collins is challenging Rep. Kathy Hochul (D-N.Y.), who was chosen in a special election in May 2011.
Hochul said Monday that she knows the president's signature health care law is imperfect, but Congress needs to address other issues."There's a lot of uncertainty about this, but it is now the law of the land and they understand that," she said at a town hall in Victor, N.Y., according to local NBC affiliate WHEC.com. "And we don't want to take this country backward and re-litigate and re-fight over this. We've got a lot of other issues to deal with. We've got an economy that has to get back on track."

McCAIN BELITTLES FOOL RAND PAUL ON DRONE ATTACKS!

Rand Paul's Filibuster Belittled By John McCain As 'Simply False'

WASHINGTON -- One of the Senate's leading hawks, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), took to the Senate floor Thursday to fire back at Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), saying the Kentuckian's rant against extrajudicial drone killings was "simply false."
Quoting extensively from a Wall Street Journal editorial that mocked Paul, McCain also argued that Paul had belittled the growing use of drones to kill terrorism suspects by invoking the name of Jane Fonda and suggesting a drone could have killed her when she was a Vietnam War protester.
Paul took to the floor Wednesday for nearly 13 hours, hoping to pressure the White House to declare whether or not it might use a drone to strike an American citizen in the United States.
McCain, a former Vietnam prisoner of war, was not impressed.
"I watched some of that, quote, debate, unquote, yesterday," McCain said. "I saw colleagues who know better come to the floor and voice some of this same concern, which is totally unfounded.
"I must say that the use of Jane Fonda's name does evoke certain memories with me, and I must say that she is not my favorite American. But I also believe that, as odious as it was, Ms. Fonda acted within her constitutional rights, and to somehow say that someone who disagrees with American policy -- and even may demonstrate against it -- is somehow a member of an organization which makes that individual an enemy combatant is simply false," McCain said, hitting his lectern for emphasis. "It is simply false."
McCain said it was "ridiculous" and "a stretch of the imagination" to "allege or infer that the President of the United States is going to kill somebody like Jane Fonda, or somebody who disagrees with the policies."
The Wall Street Journal editorial he quoted was even more scathing, declaring, "Give Rand Paul credit for theatrical timing, as a snow storm descended on Washington. The filibuster filled the attention void on Twitter and cable TV. If only his reasoning matched the showmanship."
The editorial also complained that Paul should not be shocked that the United States might kill a citizen by drone strike within its own borders, arguing that the Obama administration is well within its rights to kill enemies of the country, wherever they may be.
Paul has vigorously opposed the growing use of drones by the administration, saying the strikes violate due process guaranteed under the Constitution and permit the president to act as judge, jury and executioner.

SENATOR GRAHAM ATTACKS RAND PAUL AS RIDICULOUS

FUCKTARD GOP WINGNUTS BRAG ABOUT VAWA AFTER VOTING AGAINST IT!

House GOPers boast about VAWA after voting against it

"I know how important it is to empower women in difficult situations,” said Rep. Steve King

House Republicans who voted against the final version of the Violence Against Women Act have been sending statements to their constituents boasting about their votes…for the Violence Against Women Act.
“I supported this legislation because I know how important it is to empower women in difficult situations,” Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, said in a statement. “If a woman is at risk, she should know that she has a place to turn for support and assistance. I supported VAWA in 2005, 2012, and today I voted in support of the House version to see that victims of domestic violence and sexual assault have access to the resources and protection when they need it the most.”
“I am pleased to support efforts to protect all women in this country from domestic abuse and other forms of violence,” said Rep. Vicky Hartzler, R-Mo.
As Steve Benen from Maddow Blog first reported, there were many more, including Reps. Tim Griffin, R-Ark., Tim Walberg, R-Mich., Keith Rothfus, R-Pa., Tim Murphy, R-Pa., and Bill Johnson, R-Ohio.
These Republicans have argued that their statements are not misleading because they did vote for version of VAWA: The GOP version, which stripped out the expanded protections for LGBT, illegal immigrant, and Native American women, and failed to pass the House.
Aides to some of those lawmakers have pushed back on the idea they were being deceptive. Walberg spokeswoman Sarah Kuziomko told MLive.com that Walberg’s statement was “in support of the version of the Violence Against Women Act that included the conscience protection clause,” referring to the GOP proposal that failed.
A Johnson spokesman told HuffPost that the congressman voted against the VAWA bill that passed because it was a “politically–motivated, constitutionally-dubious Senate version bent on dividing women into categories by race, transgender politics and sexual preference.”
Sahil Kapur of TPM explains the shenanigans:
Those Republicans want to protect themselves from right-wing challengers, who might invoke vote scorecards from groups like Heritage Action and the Club For Growth to call into question their conservative credentials. (Conservatives objected to expanded protections for gays and illegal immigrants, and questioned the constitutionality of tribal land provisions.) But the GOP lawmakers also don’t want their constituents to know they ultimately voted against passage of legislation aimed at helping women who are victims of domestic violence and rape.

SCUMBAG O'KEEFE PAYS UP $100,000 FOR ACORDN LIES

Embarrassed Yet? Will the Media Now Apologize for Helping to Destroy ACORN?\

Acorn-ny-times

Yes, justice found pretend pimp James O’Keefe even after then California Attorney General Jerry Brown gave the conservative activist immunity in exchange for his unedited tapes. O’Keefe has to pay former ACORN employee Juan Carlos Vera $100,000 for secretly recording him and making a deceptive video from that recording.
You might remember O’Keefe from the Tea Party days when the media was in love with all things Breitbartish. O’Keefe liked to dress up as a pimp and set traps for real journalists on his “sex” boat. In his ACORN video, he showed himself dressed as a pimp when he actually met with Juan Carlos Vera dressed in a suit and tie. Also, although O’Keefe claimed Juan Carlos Vera helped him smuggle young girls into the US, in point of fact, Vera had called the police on James O’Keefe.
Something that should have happened a lot more to the pretend pimp.
The “liberal” media played O’Keefe’s deceptively edited video repeatedly, thereby ruining Vera’s reputation unfairly and inaccurately, but hey, the law is for liberals. O’Keefe was determined to take out as many liberal targets as he could, any way he could.
Of course, the Breitbart empire refused to show the unedited videos for months, all the while making further outrageous accusations stemming from their unrestrained imagination and paranoia:
Media Matters reported:
Breitbart and O’Keefe withheld exculpatory LA ACORN video for two months. For more than two months after Andrew Breitbart’s BigGovernment.com website began posting videos in which O’Keefe and Giles posed as a pimp and prostitute in ACORN offices, O’Keefe and his cohorts withheld video that directly contradicted what they said the videos showed. In September 2009, Giles and Big Government editor-in-chief Mike Flynn had both falsely claimed that every ACORN office O’Keefe and Giles visited had offered to help them. Also during September 2009, both Breitbart and O’Keefe were asked directly by reporters whether any ACORN offices had refused to help; Breitbart and O’Keefe chose not to disclose the existence of a tape that showed at least one ACORN worker who refused to help. In a video released November 16, 2009, O’Keefe finally acknowledged that a Los Angeles ACORN worker they filmed in August 2009 “would not assist us obtain a house for our illegal activities.”
In court documents first obtained by Wonkette, we learn that Vera was able to sue O’Keefe because the Tea Party jihadist broke a California law prohibiting the secret recordings. Oh, that evil state government!
O’Keefe’s attorney referred to the settlement as a “nuisance settlement” and said that O’Keefe “has a full career ahead as a talented investigative journalist.” Oh, yes. Sure he does. Before the media wised up to his illegal tactics and his deceptive editing (it took a while), O’Keefe took out an NPR reporter, tried to document voter fraud by perpetrating it, and got arrested for entering Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu’s office under false pretenses, and tried to lure CNN reporter Abbie Bourdeau to his boat in order to humiliate her sexually.
Blind folds, hidden cameras, boats, a sex tape machine, pornographic magazines, champagne and strawberries….sounds like one of those cheesy porns they consume in the Bible Belt on Sundays, but no…..this is a the “CNN Caper”, a Right Wing Activist Plan. It’s politics, Tea Party Style. In other words, it’s pornography, meant to titillate those involved and the boys of the Right while in this case also humiliating and controlling the female object. This is the story of the “CNN Caper” — an attempt by Tea Party activists to use sex to discredit a female reporter.
The one consistency? While trying to prove the illegality of his targets, James O’Keefe broke the law.
O’Keefe must think the law doesn’t apply to paranoid, angry, “traditional”, bitter white boys with an ax to grind against the “others” getting imaginary assistance from the liberal fairy godmother. But no doubt he’s in part emulating House Republicans bent on destroying the country over imaginary problems, and they in turn are emulating his witch-hunt ethics and pathological need of feather boa drama.

Troubling paranoia stemming from projec
tion of his own intent meets repressed, distorted sexuality, stunted emotional growth and stunning hostility toward women and minorities = James O’Keefe.
Are the days of conservative activism requiring men to dress up in costumes pretending to be laughable pimps or illiterate founding fathers or incompetent spies almost over? Freud would have a field day with the Tea Party.
I hope that the mainstream media, who jumped into bed with this very troubling individual, uses this as an opportunity to rethink their love affair with all things Breitbartly “conservative”. Because while they were not always dressed up in inappropriate costumes, there were some exciting signs, dances, music and more at liberal protests against the war, at Occupy protests, union protests, civil rights marches and more. But maybe the media is only enthralled when the glitz of pretend sprinkles freakish showmanship over reality.
